Austrian efficiency. Poles suffer second defeat at European Championships
The Polish national team lost their second match at the European Championships in Germany. Poland were the first to concede a goal after Gernot Trauner's header, but Krzysztof Piątek managed to score an equaliser before the break. Unfortunately, it was only our rivals who scored in the second half. In the 66th minute the goal was scored by Christoph Baumgartner, and in the 78th minute Wojciech Szczęsny was defeated by Marko Arnautović from a penalty kick.
Michał Probierz: We are not giving up
Unfortunately, despite taking the lead in their first match at the European Championships, the Polish team suffered a 1:2 defeat against the Dutch. In the first half, Adam Buksa started the scoring after a header, but the rivals managed to equalise before the half time. The Poles fought back and were close to a draw, but the final blow was dealt by the "Oranje" team. The winning goal was scored by Wout Weghorst. "I would like to thank our fans who supported us. We very much regret that we did not manage to score an equalising goal in the end", said the head coach Michal Probierz after the match.
An underachieving start. Poland lost against the Netherlands
The Polish national team lost 1:2 to the Netherlands in the first round of the group stage of this year's European Championships. The goal for Poland was scored by Adam Buksa, while Cody Gakpo and Wout Weghorst scored for the Dutch. In their second match of the tournament, at 6 pm on Friday, the Poles will face Austria, who will play their first game at the championships against the French national team on Monday.
Another Polish triumph! The White-Reds beat Turkey
The Polish national team won another friendly match before the 2024 European Championships. In the last test before the trip to Germany, the White-Reds defeated Turkey 2:1 after goals by Karol Świderski and Nicola Zalewski. For the rivals, the goal was scored by Barış Alper Yılmaz.
Michał Probierz has announced the squad for Euro 2024
Polish national team head coach Michał Probierz has announced the list of players called up for the final tournament of the European Football Championship in Germany. The White-Reds will play against the Netherlands (16 June, 3 pm, Hamburg), Austria (21 June, 6pm, Berlin) and France (25 June, 6 pm, Dortmund) in the group stage.
Successful test. Poland better than Ukraine!
In the first friendly match preparing for the participation in the European Championships, the Polish national team won 3:1 against Ukraine, and Sebastian Walukiewicz and Taras Romanczuk enjoyed their first goals for the national team. In addition to them, the goal was scored by Piotr Zieliński. Jakub Kałuziński and Kacper Urbański, who replaced the injured Arkadiusz Milik at the start of the match, made their senior debuts.
