Five substitutions allowed for 2020/21 club and national team competitions
The UEFA Executive Committee today decided, after an agreement with the European Club Association and the European Leagues, to recover the dates lost due to the cancellation of the March 2020 window and the postponement of EURO 2020 to the summer of 2021, by extending the March and September 2021 windows in the FIFA international match calendar so that three matches instead of two could be accommodated. This solution has already been implemented, with FIFA’s approval, for the international windows of October and November 2020.
Fortuna 1. liga matches to be broadcast in the USA
Fortuna 1. liga moves beyond Poland. In the 2020–21 season, fans in the United States will be able to watch three matches from each round, which in Poland will be directly broadcast by Polsat Sport. In the USA, the matches will be available on Sling TV.
New Management Board of Pierwsza Liga Piłkarska
Marcin Janicki will remain the President of Pierwsza Liga Piłkarska for the next two years. The Management Board of Pierwsza Liga Piłkarska now also includes Wojciech Kowalewski (Stomil Olsztyn) and Leszek Bartnicki (GKS Tychy).
UEFA meets General Secretaries of member associations
UEFA has today met via videoconference with all 55 General Secretaries of its member associations to discuss in particular the potential gradual return of fans to UEFA matches.
UEFA postpones youth national team competitions
After consultation with UEFA’s 55 member associations, the UEFA Executive Committee has today taken several decisions regarding youth national team competitions considering the current COVID-19 situation across Europe.
