Robert Lewandowski: I've fulfilled my dream
"Obviously, when playing for the national team, the most important thing is the interest of the team, which must always come first. However, I am a striker and of course in the back of my mind I think about scoring goals and helping the team in this way. Even though I managed to set up a goal on the first hit, I was still hoping to score at the World Cup and fulfill my dream," said Robert Lewandowski after the match against Saudi Arabia.
"We worked very well in defence throughout the match, I just don't know why the referee made that decision on the penalty kick. We could have attacked the ball better a few times, taken possession of it in the middle of the field, got to the ball faster and been more aggressive. We wanted to control the match and it was good that we managed to keep our cool. We could have taken advantage of more situations, I myself hit the post, and Arek Milik hit the crossbar. But maybe it's a good thing that it happened the way it did. We will keep our feet on the ground because of it and in the match against Argentina we will show what else we've got. We know that this will be a very different match. We will face a top-class rival. However, we have four points and there is nothing left for us to do but fight until the end," added the national team captain.
