Unseeded Poland. Playoff draw on 26 November
The group stage of the European section of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification has seen its conclusion. The Polish national team will play in two-phase playoffs – the team is unseeded in the semi-final draw and will play an away match. The playoff draw for both phases will take place on November 26 at 17:00 in Zurich.
The European teams that qualified directly for the 2022 FIFA World Cup include Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Denmark, Croatia, England, Germany and the Netherlands.
All that remains are playoffs through which three national teams will qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup 12 teams (10 runners-up of each group from the group stage and 2 teams that won their Nations League group) will be divided into three paths, each with semi-finals and the final. Only one team in each path will qualify for the World Cup in Qatar. The playoff draw will be held on 26 November. Six teams will be seeded in the draw and will host the semi-final match.
The following teams will be seeded in the playoff draw: Portugal, Scotland, Italy, Russia, Sweden and Wales.
The following teams will be unseeded in the playoff draw: Turkey, POLAND, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Austria, the Czech Republic.
The playoff matches will be played at the end of Match 2022. The semi-finals will be played on 24 and 25 March, while the finals in each path on 28 and 29 March.
